The first thing I always suggest to people who are already supplementing or looking to supplement is to get a Supplemental Nursing System (SNS)

 


Foods to increase production

Drink lots of Water and Eat a well balanced diet: make sure to get protein, vitamins and minerals, and enough calories. (Foods high in calcium, iron and protein).
Asparagus
Peas
Watercress and Dandelion leaves
Carrots
Brown Rice
Sweet potatoes
Pecans
Apricots
Green beans
Dark leafy greens

Galactogoues/Herbs to increase production

(Drink herbal teas, infusions or take tinctures)
Nourishing herbs to help support mom with nutrients as well as to encourage supply:
Comfrey
Red Raspberry Leaf
Nettles
Alfalfa
Red Clover


Known traditionally for enhancing milk supply:
Fennel
Blessed Thistle leaves
Borage leaves
Barley
Hops
Vitex

 

Avoid

Stress: It is challenging but to take some time for yourself to breathe and let go of stress can have wonderful effects on your body's ability to relax to allow it to produce milk and have it flow easily.

decrease milk supply
Sage
Parsley
Licorice
and there are some others that may like
Peppermint
Spearmint
Chickweed etc.
